Computer Applications & Languages Tutor
Macomb Community College, September 2007 - June 2010
Warren, MI
Tutored students in Java, C++, C#, Visual Basic, SQL, and web development. My professor personally requested me for the role, and students regularly sought my private tutoring beyond my regular shifts. I worked with learners from all walks of life — from complete beginners who had never touched a computer to advanced students working through complex data structures.
The experience built a foundation in explaining complex technical concepts clearly, a skill that's shaped how I communicate with clients and teammates ever since. Every session was a different puzzle: adapting explanations on the fly, finding the analogy that clicks, and watching someone's confidence grow when code finally does what they want it to.
Owner & Founder
Arendt Digital LLC, 1999 - Present
Detroit, MI
I started coding at 10 in QBASIC and sold my first game to classmates on a TI-83 calculator. A few years later, a Flash game I built hit a million plays on Newgrounds. Arendt Digital has been the through-line ever since — part freelance studio, part creative lab for everything I want to build.
On the client side, I've shipped work for Sony, Fox, Lodestar Collective, Gamer's Brand Games, and others — promotional games for feature films, leaderboard systems, social hubs, and interactive web experiences. On the personal side, I'm currently building Fluentia, a full-stack AI language learning platform on SvelteKit 5 with Turborepo, multi-provider LLM and TTS, Supabase, and Stripe billing.
Other personal projects include EndleStory (an AI-powered infinite storytelling platform streamed live on Twitch), SC2 Combos (a real-time StarCraft II training app), WordSense (an AI language learning MVP), and a growing list of game prototypes that have been rattling around my head since I was 10.

Education & Interests
Associate of Applied Science in Computer Programming
Macomb Community College, Warren, MI
2006 - 2010
I earned my Associate's degree in Computer Programming studying object-oriented programming with Java, Python, C++, Visual Basic, and C#. I also explored game design, created a breakout game, and developed artistic projects alongside my technical studies. During my time at Macomb, I achieved Magna Cum Laude honors, was consistently on the Dean's list, and was personally requested by my professor to become a computer science tutor, a testament to my dedication and skill. One of my most memorable experiences was collaborating on game development projects with my best friend, which combined learning with creativity and fun.
Certifications
- Unity Certified Associate: Programmer
- Unity Junior Programmer
While pursuing this certification, I explored class projects such as small Unity games and a VR experience where users could cast spells by waving a wand and speaking magic words.
Languages
- Hungarian (A2)
Currently studying for B1 proficiency to qualify for Hungarian citizenship. This effort reconnects me to my great-grandfather’s heritage, a meaningful pursuit to honor my ancestors' language and culture. My journey includes daily Duolingo practice (450+ day streak!), LingQ, and weekly tutoring sessions with a native Hungarian speaker, making the process enjoyable and immersive.
- Turkish (A1)
During my two years living in Türkiye, I developed basic Turkish skills, which proved invaluable for traveling and building connections with my in-laws. I’ve adopted cultural phrases like greetings, apologies, and expressions of appreciation, alongside traditional recipes such as çiğ köfte, a flavorful vegetarian meatball dish.
Hobbies & Interests
- Music
I enjoy playing and singing oldies, flamenco, and classical music on the acoustic guitar. Singing while playing has become a delightful challenge, with performances shared with my wife, cats, and Facebook friends list.
- Gaming
My favorite competitive games include Starcraft 2 (Diamond in WoL), Age of Empires, Overwatch, League of Legends, and Call of Duty. Gaming has also influenced my programming projects, such as developing tools for team-building stats in League of Legends.
- 3D Modeling
I use Fusion 360 and Makerworld to create and print organizational tools and figurines. While I don’t sell my creations, I find joy in crafting practical items and contributing to maker communities.
- Collecting
My Warhammer 40k collection is a source of pride, particularly my Tyranid Carnifex posed over a defeated Space Marine hero. My painted models follow distinct themes: camo green for Space Marines and spooky red-and-black Tyranids with glowing yellow accents.
- Personal Development
Recently, I’ve been focusing on building habits through the principle of inertia, starting small and being consistent daily. I often explore self-improvement topics with tools like GPT and apply these lessons to my life, whether solving problems around the house or enhancing my career skills.
